Title :'Bird Woman''
The pale and carefully crafted features of the woman's profile, contrasted against the earth tones of fibres and paint, create a delicate and haunting mood in the 'Bird Woman', an example of some of Geraldine's latest work.

About the Artist and her creations:
Geraldine O’Rourke a native of Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland attended Art College in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin in the 1980’s. She worked in Dingle for several years before moving to Galway where she is based in the Ceardlann Spiddal Craft and Design Studios. Her labour intensive techniques involve making all her materials. Manufacturing paper backgrounds from pulp which are then hand dyed, moulded and embossed, each piece of ceramic used in her creations is individually crafted from clay, carved, glazed and fired by hand. The result yielding a creation which has its own unique character and individuality, in essence each piece created is an original.
